Early Childhood Development Technology

Welcome to the Early Childhood Development Associate Degree Program.

Learn more about the opportunities that are available for you as an early childhood professional.  Graduates of this program are working directly with children and families, in various programs and centers as preschool teachers, administrators and paraprofessionals in the public schools.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook, a nationally recognized source of career information, states that early childhood education teachers will be needed more in the future.

"States are instituting programs to improve early childhood education, such as offering full day kindergarten and universal preschool.  These last two programs, along with projected higher enrollment growth for preschool age children, will create many new jobs for preschool teachers, which are expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations." (ODJFS: Occupational Outlook Handbook)

According to a special article in Time magazine titled "America By the Numbers," October 30, 2006 issue, the projection of the top five US occupations projected to grow by 2014 listed Preschool teachers in the top five at 143,000 jobs.

Accreditation of the program is provided by Ohio Department of Education for Prekindergarten Associate Licensure.
