Statement of Purpose |

The purpose of the
Emergency Medical Services program is to prepare qualified emergency
medical service – paramedics who practice ethically, respond to
patient needs with competence and compassion and help fulfill the
community’s health care needs. |

Learning Outcomes |
|
|
|
At the completion of
the Emergency Medical Services plans of study the student will be
able to: |

1. |
Perform general
patient assessment and initial management of patient. |
|
2. |
Perform trauma
patient assessment and care. |
|
3. |
Provide general
medical illness care. |
|
4. |
Provide patient care
for gynecological and obstetrical emergencies, including neonatal
management. |
|
5. |
Provide behavioral
emergency patient care. |
|
6. |
Demonstrate
appropriate personal safety and provide care for patients with
communicable diseases. |
|
7. |
Meet requirements
established for national registration and state certification. |
