Statement of Purpose |

The purpose of the
Drafting and Design Technology--Civil Design Option program is to
prepare competent drafting and construction technicians for the
architecture and engineering profession. |
|

Learning Outcomes |
|
|
|
At the completion of
the Drafting and Design Technology -- Civil Design Option plan of
study the student will be able to: |

1. |
Use a
computer drafting program to create accurate civil engineering
documents to meet professional drafting standards and applicable
zoning and regulations. |
|
2. |
Use
construction components and materials to create assemblies and
detail drawings meeting construction standards. |
|
3. |
Use
problem solving and critical thinking skills to design and document
functional solutions to meet established criteria and standards when
given design criteria and simple design problems. |
|
4. |
Apply
appropriate terminology to effectively communicate with
professionals in the Engineering and Design office environment. |
|
5. |
Exhibit
professionalism through active participation in class activities and
successful completion of group projects. |
