Newark Gallery

The mission of the Gallery is to serve as a community resource for the Arts in Newark and Licking County. The OSU-Newark Gallery, located in LeFevre Hall, was established in 1993.

Licking County Art Association Workshops

The Licking County Art Associationis offering a series of Saturday workshops held in the Art Lab, LeFevre Hall Rm. 124. You need not be a member of the Art Association to participate in these classes. Payment for the registered class must be received in the LCAA office at PO Box 4277, Newark, OH 43058 by the registration deadline. For more information about the Licking County Art Association and class offerings contact the LCAA office at 740-349-8031.

Directions to the Gallery

The Art Gallery is located in the main entrance of LeFevre Hall on the northwest side of Campus. Parking is available in the student lots on the south side of the building. Temporary parking is available to artists delivering or picking up artwork at the loading dock on the south end of the building.

How to Submit Work for Exhibit or Purchase

Exhibit
The Gallery hosts six invitational exhibits each academic year. Professional Artists wishing to apply for an exhibition may submit twenty slides of work, a short description of the proposal, a current resume, an artist's statement if necessary, and any reviews or press materials that are appropriate.

Campus Art Project
The Campus Art Project accepts work from Ohio artists working in two-dimensional media. Please submit twenty slides of work, a brief description of each piece including the price, a current resume, an artist's statement if necessary, and any reviews or press materials that are appropriate. Submissions will be considered by the Campus Art Project committee. Selection is based on the following criteria:

  • Appropriateness for Campus installation
  • Interesting use of formal artistic elements
  • Variety of media with respect to current collection
  • Degree to which the piece inspires critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual pursuits
  • Availability of funds
